Projects & Stewardship

Building and sustaining the parish community is considered the responsibility of all members of St. Ann's Church.

The Food Pantry feeds over 500 families each year. Thanks to the generosity of St. Ann's Parishioners this cupboard has never been empty!

St. Ann's youth (Religious Educations, School, Early Learning Center and Youth Ministry) participate in the Annual Holiday Food Drive.

Enhance celebration and understanding of the Mass and community. They serve as hospitality ministers, lectors, song leaders, choir members, musicians, technology and Eucharistic Ministers.

Regularly visit shut-ins and the care homes in the Kaneohe area.

Prepare for Mass celebrations by donating and/or arranging flowers on the altar. Cleaning teams volunteer time and "elbow grease" on Saturday mornings.

The School, Early Learning Center, Religious Education and Youth Ministry continue to provide outstanding educational programs because volunteers give their time and talent as teacher/catechists, facilitator, tutors, team leaders, clerical aides, classroom parents.

Renewal at St. Ann's has a unique flavor because it reflects the spiritual heritage of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts. The mission of the Congregation is to proclaim the love of God as revealed in the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. The fundamental aim of renewal is revitalizing the HEART -- that each person may come to experience the Sacred Hearts of mercy, of goodness, of healing, of teaching. ENTHRONEMENT in the home is the sign of this change of heart.

St. Ann rectory handles registration for infant Baptism.  The first step in the process is for the parents to meet with a priest prior to attending the baptism sessions.  Sessions are on the first and second Sundays of each month at 10:00am for parents AND godparents.  Baptisms are usually on the fourth weekend of the month.  Please call the rectory at ext. 111 to register.

BEFORE YOU SET A WEDDING DATE call the rectory to get in touch with a priest or the Pastoral Assistant.  The Diocese of Honolulu mandates a sixth-month minimum preparation period.  Besides scheduled session with a priest and a “sponsor couple,” an Engaged Encounter Weekend is an integral part of the preparation process.  For information on marriage preparation, policies and guidelines, please refer to the link below.

The Sacrament of the Sick (formerly known as the "Last Rites") is a sacrament of comfort and healing. St. Ann encourages celebrating the Sacrament of the Sick during the 7:00 am weekday Mass or anytime (by appointment).

Call the Rectory at 247-3092 at the onset of serious illness or chronic disease, before scheduled surgery or hospitalization or in the case of an emergency. If you are confined to your home and want to receive Holy Communion call the Rectory.

Final arrangements are made with the cooperation of the mortuary and St. Ann. It is customary to call the Rectory before completing arrangements. This is often done at the mortuary itself.  Please contact Barbara Honda at 247-3092, ext. 115.

Diocesan policy requires that the Mass of Christian Burial be celebrated in the parish church--not in the mortuary chapel.

Memorial Prayer cards are available though the Rectory. These cards may be sent to friends and family assuring them their loved one will be remembered at the Parish Sunday Masses.
